Setting Up and Using Dispatch For E.G.O.

The Evil Genius Organized-Play (E.G.O.) program uses Dispatch, a web-based application, to make organized play easy, flexible, paperless, and fun. Through Dispatch, GMs can create and schedule games, add players, start/stop the game timer, and “report” results with a few clicks; players can easily search for and join games using multiple characters, which are saved and tracked in the app. If you are looking for a nearby game at a Friendly Local Game Stores (FLGS), an online game, or a seat at a convention, Dispatch has you covered.

Getting Registered on Dispatch

Dispatch is a web-based app, so there’s nothing to download, install, or update. And as long as your device has a browser and an internet connection, the only thing you need is a Dispatch account. To set up your account, go to orgplay.app and complete the registration page. If you already have an account with our Evil Genius Games webstore, you can use the same email and password.

Using Dispatch for Players

Getting started:

1. Log into your dispatch account.
2. Set up your character(s). You need to establish your character in Dispatch to participate in the organized play program. Whether you’re first using pregens or starting from scratch, you still need to register your character on the app. To register your character:

• Click My Characters from the side menu.
  • Click Register a New Character. To register a character, you specify your character’s:
    • Name
    • Archetype
    • Class
  • Click Register Character. Congratulations–you’re done!

Character Image:

Once you have registered your character, you can choose to associate an image with it. To add an image, either:

• Click the picture icon on the character’s image and choose from one of the preset images.
• Upload a Photo from your phone or desktop.
• To remove a photo, click on the image again and then click Remove Photo.

Default Character Level

Your character will default to Level 1. If, for some reason, you must start at a different level, please email us at ego@evilgeniusgaming.com so we can make that change for you on the back end.

Finding a Game:

Dispatch makes finding an open game near you or online is easy. If allowed, the app will already know your location via the web browser, and you can sort for open games by proximity to your location. All games are displayed on game cards with the following information:

• Title of the event
• Scenario being played
• Levels of the scenario
• Distance from your location
• Date and time of the session
• Location of the venue

Pro Tip:

You can search for games by Title, Scenario, Code, or Location, and further narrow your search by Distance and Date

Choosing a Game.

If you click on a game card, Dispatch will show you additional details about the game on two tabs:

• The Participants Tab displays the GM and other players registered for the game.
• The Invite Tab allows you to share the game with friends and other interested players.

When you want take a seat in a open game, click:

• Select Character (at the bottom of the screen) to choose an iconic or a character that you have already made.
• Add Character (from the upper left) to create a new character (see “Setting Up a Character,” above.)

Setting your preferences.

This is where you can change and customize such things as:

• Your user image and your name.
• US or Other Date Format (toggle next to the prompt).
• Standard or 24-Hour Time (toggle next to the prompt).
• Change Password
• LogOut
• Learn More about the E.G.O. program

Using Dispatch For GMs

To Create and Schedule a Game:

1. Log into your Dispatch account.

2. Click Create A Game (on the side menu or at the top right), then:

   • Enter your Game Title.
   • Choose which Scenario you wish to run.
   • Lookup and select the Location of your game.

3. Click Register Character. Congratulations–you’re done!

4. If you are going to play right away, choose Launch the Game,

5. If you are going to schedule a game for later, choose Schedule the Game (lower right), then:

   • Select Date
   • Choose Start Time
   • Click Schedule

To log the results of a game:

At the conclusion of the game, indicate which “Adventure Outcome” (A, B, or C) the heroes achieved.

You’re done !

Bug Reports

If you find a bug, we want to hear about it! With Dispatch, it’s simple to submit a report. Just:

• Log into your Dispatch account.
• Click on the Settings tab
• Click Report a Bug
• Choose What Broke from the Dropdown
• Choose How Bad is This from the Dropdown
• Tell us What Went Wrong in the open box.
• Last, click Send Email.
